Cheryl Dancey Balough is a principal of Balough Law Offices, LLC. Cheryl advises start-ups and closely held businesses on issues related to corporate formation, contracts, e-commerce, privacy, and advertising. She also helps her clients protect their ideas, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets as they start new ventures or grow existing businesses. Cheryl is an adjunct professor of copyright law at Chicago-Kent College of Law and previously served as senior faculty in communications and business planning at Keller Graduate School of Management. She currently serves as Vice-Chair of the American Bar Association Cyberspace Law Committee and previously as Co-Chair of the Chicago Bar Association Alliance for Women. Before becoming an attorney, Cheryl spent 20 years as a marketing executive. She has published articles in the Chicago-Kent Law Review, The Business Lawyer, and Business Law Today, and she has contributed chapters to two books: Internet Law for the Business Lawyer and RFIDs, Near-Field Communications, and Mobile Payments: A Guide for Lawyers. Cheryl earned a JD from Chicago-Kent and an MBA from Northwestern University.
